I have justed posted the very last chapter of my novel at the OWW.
It's been a long haul but - I hope - worth it.
And I should soon be getting my second little bee too.

People have stopped reviewing my novel.
This is on the OWW.
I do need to write more reviews, I know - that might draw in some more crits. It might be the problem of a mid-novel review - it takes some getting into.
But it doesn't seem to be really the problem. After all, people appear to be READING the chapters in increasing numbers. I had twenty-two readers for the last part, reading a total of 36 times, and producing one review between them.
And these are the conclusions of the last reviews I got:
I think that the reason this has been posted so long without any interaction is that it is nearly impossible to crit. The writing is smooth, the emotions highly convincing.
In short, people are reading it because they like it which is flattering but not desperately helpful ...

Three thousand words of novel written yesterday (and 500 the day before).
In other words - a whole chapter of Clovis!!!
Go me.
Today a shorter chapter for the Marizon novel. I think my original intention is working, and that people are actually becoming caught up in Saranth's story and getting on side with her, enjoying the story of life in the glassworks. So it's time to give another turn of the screw and put in an Edwen Chapter.
At some point, I need to overhaul the naming convetion in this novel.
Edwen was the Lord of Morine when he had an affair with Marizon, Countess of Flarvent. Everyone called him Morine - and his land was also called Morine. Now that he is the Earl, he is known variously as Flaervent and also as Morine (especially to people like Gryphal, who accept his possession of the Earldom only reluctantly). But I think it could be confusing for readers, especially when there's all the petty lordlings from Morine (the land) hanging around the Earl too ...
Hmmmmm
I'm not sure Flaervent is a good name anyway ...

Submitted a character concept for a game. It didn't make it. No biggie - some you win, some you lose.
And really, I should be writing The Novel. And making a character for Exodus (looks like the half-Nereid/half Lemuran is a bust too, but never mind).
What does make me a wee bit unhappy is that while I'd emailed the GM with my concept privately, the rejection notice goes out in a public forum.
Am I being a little too hyper-sensitive here? Possibly. And heaven knows, I've made GMing mistakes. Actually, I've made GMing mistakes the memory of which just makes me want to curl up in a ball and die. On the scale of one to ten, I have definitely made mistakes that are up there in the nines (well, one, certainly - and not on anoa), and I've got a couple of 4 and 5s.
Whereas this is a 2. Definitely a 2.
There - that makes me feel better.
I think it's just that what feels like public rejection, in any shape or form, hurts a bit.
